Families and their Veterans Forum

Families and their Veterans Forum

Your chance to have a VOICE!!!

YOUR voice as a Defence Partner and part of a Defence Family IS important which is why coming along (in person or virtually) to the inaugural ‘Families and their Veterans Forum’ happening next Wednesday 29th June is sooooo important.

Note the name….Families and their Veterans Forum.

Thank you, Nowra Veteran Wellbeing Centre for getting it! Slowly, slowly we are all having an impact and helping individuals and organisations to understand that we are not an AND.

Defence Partners & Families and OUR voices are an essential part of the conversation whether it be about the start of the defence journey, our ACTUAL defence life experience or the transition out of defence.

That is why I’m urging you to consider coming along or tuning in. You don’t need to live in Nowra (my hood) to have your say.

The Forum is a chance to hear a variety of thoughts, comments, questions from real people- VOICES. Not a survey. Not a behind-closed-door meeting. Real Partners and Defence Families in a room, unfiltered, taking part in healthy discussion and working toward authentic understanding and acknowledgment.

To find out more info, to register to come along or to receive the Zoom link to tune in virtually see the below details. I’ll be there and I will also be one of the speakers on the day.

The Nowra Veteran Wellbeing Centre would like to invite you to the inaugural Families and their Veterans Forum.

Our aim is to facilitate the opportunity for Families of Veterans and Veteran focused organisations to work more collaboratively to support the local Veteran community.

During the event, we will:

Get to know the South Coast Veteran and Ex-service Community

Encourage Communities to work collaboratively

Promote services to Families

A chance for Families to raise awareness of NEEDS

Formation of the Families Accountability Group

It’s an opportunity to get to know each other better and learn about the work ex-service organisations, RSL Sub-Branches and community organisations are doing to support Families and their Veterans.

Where: Worrigee Sports – 131 Greenwell Point Rd, Worrigee NSW 2540

Date: Wednesday 29th June 2022

Time: 10:30 am – 14.30pm (registration 10:00am)

Please register your attendance below.

Registration will close 9pm Monday 27th of June

If you are planning to join the forum online a separate email with the zoom invitation will follow.

*Hey there, if you can’t attend in person or tune in virtually next week no need to stress because I know that what we all NEED is the chance to be part of the defence community and have our voice heard. I also know that an event held during work hours just doesn’t work for a lot of us! That’s why there will be another forum (in the coming months) on a WEEKEND for those who miss out this time around. We got you!
